An ability to forge strong working relationships was one of the qualities that helped Conrad Dinsmore, global programme delivery analyst at ISS Facility Services, win in this category.

Supporting the implementation and management of the Integration@ISS platform, delivery of mobilisation workshops and assisting operations through transition periods were some of his responsibilities recognised by the judges.

Leader of the Year

Andrew Smart, partner and head of FM EMEA at Cushman & Wakefield, won this award in recognition of a series of successes over a 34-year career which has involved a full range of FM activities and working for some of the biggest names in the sector.

Personally driving organic growth of £30m a year, instigating a financial review that has improved efficiency and injecting new talent were all recognised, as well as being a passionate advocate of the profession.

Manager of the Year

A flair for leadership and management has helpled Mike Gibson, managing director of ENGIE’s Qwest Services, win the award in this category.

Six promotions, culminating in his appointment to lead the Qwest joint venture with Cheshire West and Chester Council were highlighted, as well as his role helping to win a number of tenders including the London Borough of Harrow and the Royal Borough of Kingston.

Marilyn Standley, the BIFM’s first ever chairman, and one of its honorary fellows, is the recipient of this year’s BIFM Lifetime Achievement award.

Key roles over 30 years in the sector include leading operational FM delivery on both the client and supply sides; setting up and running her own consultancy; chairing the BIFM’s Fellows special interest group; and continuing to be involved with a range of projects and initiatives in support of the further development of the sector.

Team of the Year

Carillion’s Northwood HQ FM team is the winner of the BIFM award in this category.
