BIFM members have until 8 November to complete this year’s Pay and Prospects survey.

Formerly the Salary Survey, the Pay and Prospects survey is a vital piece of research that contributes to the understanding of the facilities management industry and the outlook for FM professionals over the next year and beyond.

By taking part in the survey you can help to identify trends, as well as suggest improvements to FM, allowing the BIFM to continue to advance the profession.

The 2016 survey highlighted that:

  • • 71% of respondents said their employer offers flexible working.
  •
  • • 39% said they joined their current employer for a fresh challenge.
  •
  • • 28% said they would be seeking to leave their current job in the next two years because of a lack of career opportunity.
  •

It also revealed that FM professionals are expected to present themselves as comprehensively trained and communications-savvy, emphasising that FM is no longer an industry the people just ‘fall into’, but a sector that demands a high level of technical skill.

Do these findings represent your current situation? Is there anything you’d like to see change? Make sure that you have your say.

This year’s survey closes on 4 November and can be completed online. If you are an FM professional and would like to take part in the survey please click here.
