Anglo American, the diamonds-to-iron-ore mining conglomerate, has awarded Anabas a three-year contract for FM services at its corporate head office in London.
The contract went live in this month and includes catering, cleaning, management of two corporate flats in Knightsbridge, security and planned and reactive maintenance.
Covering the 8,000 square metre (86,100 square foot) office, the contract was awarded after a tender process that included five other bidders and was managed by FM Guru Consultancy.
As part of the agreement, FM firm Anabas took on 20 employees from three suppliers and recruited a new facilities account manager.
“Moving to a single supply point for all major FM services has been a long-term goal here, with the ultimate aim of reducing administration, raising standards and delivering more comprehensive support to our people,” said head of facilities for Anglo American Barry Head.
Anglo American is one of the largest mining companies in the world, employing around 107,000 people in its search for platinum, diamonds, copper, nickel, iron ore and coal.
