Interserve squares Circle

Interserve has been awarded a two-year, multi-service FM contract by private healthcare partnership Circle.

The FTSE-250 services and construction business will carry out daytime cleaning and maintenance at the healthcare providers new hospital, CircleBath when it opens in early 2010.

In the meantime, Interserve will undertake scheduled maintenance and clinical cleaning to prepare the building for use.

Contract revenue will be in the region of £500,000.

Interserve will also provide training to hospital staff, with 20 domestic staff signed up to an apprenticeship programme.

Jacqueline Droogan, head of commissioning at Circle, said: “Interserve has an excellent track record and we were impressed by the quality and value of services it has to offer. These factors, as well as their deep understanding of our requirements and expertise in this field made them our natural choice.”

The contract represents Interserve’s first business win in the private healthcare sector, although it has been working with NHS Trusts for some time.
