Kier results show group is fit for growth

18 March 2016 | Jamie Harris

Kier Group has reported a 32 per cent increase in revenues for the year to 31 December 2015.

The service provider announced revenue of £2.1 billion, up from £1.6 billion in the previous year.

Its underlying operating profit, stated before non-underlying terms, had risen by 27 per cent on the previous year to £57.1 million.

Kier’s services divisional revenue was reported at £842 million, an increase of 48 per cent, while operating profit in the division rose 68 per cent to £39.9 million.

Kier notes hard FM contract wins with Wiltshire County Council, worth £7.2 million, and Staffordshire County Council, as key drivers in its growth.

Steve Davies, Kier’s facilities management managing director, said: “Following the successful combination of our FM and Kier Business Services business and our breadth of experience we are well-placed to help clients with their transformational challenges. This spans both the public and private sector as we increase the geographic and operational breadth of the client work that we secure.

“The trend of de-bundling within the public sector enables us to capitalise on our technical strengths as an FM provider. With the increased scope of opportunity afforded to us with a number of new client wins, and a substantial extension on existing work, we are continuing to grow and make a strong contribution to our interim results.”
