LV=, a provider of insurance, retirement and investment products, has selected Mitie to deliver building repairs under the company’s claims business.
The four-year contract is worth up to £20 million and includes plastering, decorating and replacing damaged kitchens and bathrooms.
Mitie’s Property Solutions business works with insurance providers that choose to outsource all, or part of, the management and delivery of domestic and commercial property insurance claims.
Bill Robson, managing director of the Mitie division, said he “looks forward to supporting their policyholders and providing high quality service”.
LV= serves around five million customers with a range of financial products.
Mitie also announced that it been recommended as the preferred bidder by Edinburgh City Council for its integrated facilities management contract. “The recommendation is for Mitie to enter into a partnership contract with the council for the next seven years,” according to a statement from Mitie.
Mitie said that, as prime contractor, it proposes to establish a new business called Vital Edinburgh as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitie Group. Vital Edinburgh will be supported by partners Atkins and Lambert Smith Hampton.
This potential strategic partnership is due to be considered by Edinburgh City councillors later this week.
