Servest scrubs up for Heathrow contract

27 September 2011

Servest Group has won the cleaning contract for the new pod transport system at Heathrow Airport.

The pods, by developers Ultra PRT, provide on-demand transport for customers travelling from the business car park to Terminal 5, with a travelling time of five minutes.

The system consists of 21 low-energy, battery-powered, driverless vehicles capable of carrying four passengers and their luggage along a guide rail to and from the terminal.

Servest will be cleaning the stations as well as the pods.
