Suffolk Coastal Norse has won a contract to provide a total facilities management (TFM) service at East Suffolk House, the modern, new-build home of Suffolk Coastal District Council.
Norse has been closely involved for the past year, before the council’s occupation of the premises, providing a site manager to oversee works by contractors carrying out the second phase fit.
Under the new agreement, Suffolk Coastal Norse will be on site from 7am to 7pm, five days a week, providing a full range of TFM services, including FM office and building services, security access control, reception and bookings, commercial cleaning, grounds maintenance, building maintenance, staff refreshments and vending/hospitality, waste management and stationery supplies.
The four-strong Suffolk Coastal Norse on-site team comprises: two office services team members responsible for the management and delivery of the TFM package as well as running reception and security access control; a daytime housekeeper responsible for keeping breakout areas and toilets stocked, clean and tidy; and an FM support officer managing provision and troubleshooting on any setup issues.
Based at the main reception of East Suffolk House, these staff work a split-shift pattern to ensure that the site is manned from 7 till 7. The early and the late hours are when much of the background FM work is carried out, minimising disruption to council staff.
