Housing developer United House has secured six refurbishment contracts worth £11 million since the start of the year.
The deals, with local authorities and housing providers, include three in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
The first of these is a £2 million kitchen and bathroom replacement scheme due to be completed by the end of April. United has also begun a borough-wide external enveloping scheme expected to be finished by the end of June.
The third Barking contract involves the rewiring and central heating replacement in 250 homes – including updated kitchens and bathrooms. Work is due to start later this month for completion in May.
In the London Borough of Lewisham, United has started a £2.5 million contract with Phoenix Community Housing. This is for full-scale internal and external refurbishment of 101 homes on the Passfields Estate in Bellingham and completion is scheduled for June.
And affordable housing provider Guinness South, a member of The Guinness Partnership, has instructed United House to complete a £2.3 million external refurbishment of Holbein House, which comprises two five-storey mansion blocks in London’s Belgravia area. Work started in January and is expected to finish in June.
Finally, Thrive Homes, a housing association in Hertfordshire, has appointed United to carry out kitchen and bathroom work on 80 properties. The contract is worth £600,000 and is due for completion by the end of this month.
