Catering by Churchill has formed a new partnership with social enterprise Change Please to deliver services to several London outlets.

Churchill will serve coffee and other fare at Change Please branded outlets at Capital City College Group, Westminster Kingsway College, City and Islington College and Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing, and Southall (West London) colleges.

Through the support of The Big Issue, Change Please says it “uses the nation’s love of coffee to empower homeless people with the skills, equipment and speciality beans they need to become fully fledged baristas. Every barista is provided with housing, training and support and is paid the London Living Wage”.

Rebecca Bridgement, managing director of catering, said: “Our respect for Change Please, in its purpose, its clarity of business model, its success and indeed, its product could not be higher.”

Cemal Ezel, founder of Change Please, added: “The partnership with Churchill will help Change Please and Old Spike [coffee brewery] to lift more people out of homelessness.”

Starting with one van in Covent Garden in 2015, within 12 months Change Please had eight vans, and today its wares can be purchased from 14 sites. It is a regular presence at key London events such as Amazon’s Summer Party and the Brit Awards, and has just launched its award-winning coffee in Sainsbury’s.
