Churchill has been awarded a £3.5 million station-cleaning contract with Govia Thameslink Railway.

The mobilisation for this contract began on 1st July and was completed in four weeks.

It involved a TUPE transfer of 150 operatives including the management team.

In addition, Churchill has invested about £200,000 in new uniforms, robust training and equipment including the Craftex Purex cleaning system, Foamtex and bespoke fitted-out deep cleaning vans.

These vans are able to hold 100-litre water containers and provide the flexibility required by the clients to respond to immediate cleaning demands unique to the rail environment.

There will also be an "in transit cleaning service" to improve the customer experience on the Gatwick Express – the non-stop train between London Victoria and London Gatwick Airport.

The company said it has “significantly improved the management team to provide increased engagement across our teams improving motivation and accountability”.
