BSRIA publishes latest ventilation guide

Thermal mass, thermo-labyrinths and buoyancy-driven flow are just some of the topics covered in the latest ventilation guide from BSRIA, a consultancy, test and research organisation for construction,building services and FM professionals.

The Illustrated Guide to Ventilation BG 2/2009 suggests solutions to problems that include minimising cooling loads and the risks and downsides of natural and mechanical ventilation systems.

The guide aims to help clients and designers understand the basics of ventilation and the various methods by which buildings can be effectively ventilated.

It also covers the entire ventilation system, from the point of entry into a building, the means by which air is transported around a building, the point of entry into the occupied space and methods of extracting the air.
