Pinnacle PSG has awarded Metropolitan Support Trust (MST) a grounds maintenance contract at Highlands Village estate in Enfield.
FM firm Pinnacle holds the overall contract to provide landscaping and exterior maintenance to the housing estate, which is owned by Metropolitan Housing Partnership (MHP), a network of local member organisations working together to provide housing, community, regeneration, care and support services.
MST is part of the housing partnership MHP and is a not-for-profit care and support provider for people in Haringey. It supports over 7,500 people to live independently each year.
"In effect, Pinnacle has awarded part of its contract with MHP back to MHP via its not-for-profit division, MST. This means MST volunteers can gain valuable experience working with Pinnacle," said Steve Fallon, project manager at MST. Pinnacle will be training MST’s volunteers in landscaping and gardening techniques.
The one-year contract will give them valuable skills and experience for finding further employment, he told
FM World. This is the first contract of its kind offered by Pinnacle to an organisation within the housing sector.
Neil Euesden, managing director of Pinnacle PSG, said the deal works with residents to improve their neighbourhoods or offers training and employment opportunities for local people.
“This new and innovative contract with MST takes this one step further and provides a framework for us to work together with the residents and local groups to create a sustainable future for the whole community,” said Euesden.
