Kier has been appointed by Capital City Academy Trust to deliver total facilities management (TFM) to its specialist sports and arts academy in Willesden, north-west London.

The contract, which began at the academy on 11 October, is set to run for three years, with an option to extend for another two years.

Kier will provide a TFM solution, delivering fully managed hard and soft FM services including mechanical and electrical maintenance, cleaning and waste management services, grounds maintenance and security.

A capital investment over the contact period will replace the academy’s CCTV systems and install an intruder alarm system. Part of Kier’s proposal will also see the site upgraded to automated site managed security.

Kier will also run a programme of careers workshops to help students better understand the breadth of FM careers available.

The interactive workshops will be delivered in partnership with Capital City Academy every three months, to provide career advice to students, information about different job roles and apprenticeship opportunities at Kier. The initiative builds on Kier’s recently launched Shaping Your World campaign, which promotes careers across the built environment and pledges 1 per cent of their workforce as Kier Ambassadors, working with schools and colleges across the UK, engaging with at least 10,000 pupils in the first year.

Kier Workplace Services already delivers FM to University College London, Capital City College Group, ACS International Schools and multiple school contracts in Hackney, Waltham Forest, Harrow and Kent.
