Cambridgeshire Constabulary has selected Lanes Group plc to maintain the drainage systems at all its police stations.

Lanes will carry out planned and reactive maintenance for the next three years.

The contract, offered by competitive tender, covers all drain and sewer blockage and repair work at 18 police station buildings across the county.

The drainage maintenance contract will be managed by Lanes' St Neots depot. It can also draw on other expertise and specialist services offered by the UK’s largest independent drainage company.

Lanes Group development director Richard Leigh said: “The force is a 24/7 operation, and it’s vital that its police stations are maintained to a very high standard. That applies to drainage infrastructure, just as much as every other part of the building.”

Services the Lanes St Neots drainage team will deliver and coordinate as needed include CCTV drainage surveying, septic tank emptying, emergency drain unblocking, surface water channel and gully cleaning, and gutter cleaning.

The Cambridgeshire Constabulary contract is one of a growing number of regional drainage maintenance contracts won by Lanes in recent months.
