As Brexit looms, the ‘outsource’ model of service delivery is being called into question following corporate collapse, and smart technology pushes us further to adapt and innovate, ThinkFM presents an examination of the opportunities ahead for the FM profession.

The ThinkFM conference, run by the BIFM, is a landmark event in facilities management, giving delegates a chance to be inspired by presenters at the height of their organisations, and an opportunity to exchange ideas and challenges with friends and colleagues from across the sector.

This year’s conference, to be held on 1 May, at etc.venues St Paul’s, 200 Aldersgate, London, will be facilitated by broadcast journalist Cathy Newman, and economist Vicky Pryce is the event’s keynote speaker. She will focus on Brexit, the productivity conundrum, the social responsibility expectations of the new CCS framework and the need for a new model for public sector procurement.

Other key speakers include Ed Hudson, head of corporate services at UBS, who will speak about the impact of Carillion on clients and the likelihood of a major push for insourcing. Jeremy Waud, chairman of Incentive FM Group, will speak on the need to end the race to the bottom on contract price while the CBI’s George McFarlane will consider what fresh approach will follow PFI.

BIFM’s chief executive Linda Hausmanis said: “Facilities management is being increasingly recognised as having the capacity to deliver real performance benefits for companies but it also faces significant disruptors. This conference will ignite the enthusiasm of FMs to seize the opportunities that the current disrupted landscape offers and empower them to act.”

BIFM is offering delegates the opportunity to purchase three tickets for the price of two. The full programme, including details of topics, speakers and tickets, is available at: www.thinkfm.com
