WSP has been appointed as security technical adviser to support the government’s Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) during mobilisation of its security services provider.

From April, the department will disaggregate its estates requirements and has appointed WSP to the security technical adviser role through the Crown Commercial Service framework RM3741.

The 27-month programme of work will see WSP offering the DWP expert advice as security services provider G4S delivers and improves the department’s security requirements.

The DWP currently operates from more than 800 sites across the UK, from Orkney to Cornwall. The security technical adviser is required to review technical specifications, providing critical assessment and highlighting potential risks or vulnerabilities to achieve the optimum solution.

The team at WSP has previously undertaken large-scale security work at London Wall Place, South Quay Plaza, London Bridge Station, and London 2012.
